Hard Rock Vegas: Construction Progress and Projected 2027 Opening

The transformation of the former Mirage casino into Hard Rock Vegas is well underway, with demolition and construction activities progressing rapidly. Since the property’s closure in July, the site has been a hub of activity, focusing on post-closure tasks, liquidation, and preparing for the ambitious remodel.

Hard Rock Vegas Construction Updates

According to Frank Cassella, Senior Vice President of Finance for HR Las Vegas LLC, the project is moving forward positively. The site is currently a full-fledged construction zone, with demolition making significant headway. The iconic volcano has been removed, and the front drive is undergoing major changes. Visible progress includes the installation of pilings for the new guitar-shaped hotel tower, a centerpiece of the Hard Rock Vegas project.

This impressive tower will stand over 700 feet tall and house 650 suites. Beyond the tower, the project encompasses a complete redesign of the existing 3,000-room Mirage tower, the casino floor, and the pool area. An additional pool will be constructed specifically for guests staying in the guitar tower. This comprehensive overhaul signals a significant investment in creating a completely reimagined resort experience.

Operational Preparations for Hard Rock Vegas

While construction dominates the current phase, preparations for the operational aspects of Hard Rock Vegas are also underway. The focus is shifting towards pre-opening efforts, including the development of organizational charts, staffing plans, purchasing procedures, and task outlines. These crucial steps are essential to ensuring a smooth transition and a successful launch of the new resort.

Hard Rock Vegas Projected Opening

Despite the extensive scope of the project, Cassella confirmed that Hard Rock Vegas remains on schedule and within budget. The anticipated opening date for the revamped resort is set for 2027. This ambitious timeline underscores the commitment to bringing the Hard Rock brand’s signature energy and entertainment to the Las Vegas Strip. The transformation of the Mirage into Hard Rock Vegas represents a major development in the Las Vegas landscape, promising a new era of entertainment and hospitality.
