Temperature Little Rock: October 2023 Weather Summary

A strong front impacted Arkansas on October 13th, 2023, bringing cooler temperatures and breezy conditions, but minimal rainfall. Dry and windy weather prevailed on the 14th during the 2023 Annular Eclipse. Cloud cover in northern and western Arkansas hindered viewing, while central and southern areas enjoyed clearer skies. Clouds lingered statewide on the 15th, accompanied by scattered showers from a weak system moving northeast. Temperatures remained cool, with highs in the 50s and 60s. Cool overnight temperatures persisted through the 17th, with localized frost reported on the morning of the 17th.

A weak front crossed the state on the 18th and 19th, producing only light rain. While cooler temperatures were observed through the 18th, a significant warm-up followed from the 19th to the 21st. High temperatures soared into the 80s and approached 90 degrees Fahrenheit across much of Arkansas. A slight cooldown occurred on the 22nd, but temperatures remained above average. Dry conditions persisted until the 24th, when rain entered western Arkansas.

Above-normal temperatures continued ahead of a strong cold front that arrived on the 27th. Rainfall totals from the 25th through the 27th were relatively low, with more substantial precipitation occurring from October 28th to 29th. The cold front swept across the state from Sunday into Monday, ushering in much colder air. This resulted in a chilly Halloween evening, with temperatures dropping below freezing in early November.
