30 Rock Actor Grizz Chapman’s Home Destroyed in Shocking Truck Crash

Grizz Chapman, a familiar face to fans of the hit NBC sitcom “30 Rock,” experienced a devastating real-life drama when his home was destroyed in a truck accident on Monday. The incident, which involved a freight truck careening into a condo complex in Prince William County, Virginia, left four people injured and caused significant damage to property, including Chapman’s residence.

Chapman, known for his role alongside Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan in “30 Rock,” expressed his shock and dismay in the aftermath of the crash. His home of two years, located in the Moorings of Occoquan Condominiums near Woodbridge, was directly hit by the out-of-control truck. “I just play it over in my head that the truck just came in like that, and that was a side that I sleep on,” Chapman recounted, highlighting the terrifying nature of the event. Fortunately, the “30 Rock” cast member was not at home when the accident occurred.

The dramatic scene unfolded when an SUV, attempting a left turn onto Gordon Boulevard, pulled into the path of the oncoming freight truck. According to police reports, the 67-year-old SUV driver failed to yield the right of way, leading to a collision. The truck, after T-boning the SUV, careened out of control and crashed directly into the condominium building, causing extensive damage and displacing residents like the “30 Rock” actor.

“My neighbor called screaming and crying and concerned because everybody thought that I was downstairs,” Chapman explained, illustrating the immediate panic and concern within the community. The crash has not only left Chapman without a home but also resulted in the loss of cherished memorabilia from his time as part of the “30 Rock” ensemble. “A lot of ’30 Rock’ memorabilia that I had over the years,” Chapman lamented, indicating the personal value of the items lost in the destruction.

Photos shared by Chapman reveal the chaotic scene inside his boarded-up home, with debris scattered everywhere. Currently residing in a hotel while awaiting insurance processes, Chapman faces an uncertain timeline for finding a new permanent residence. He hopes to secure a stable living situation before the holiday season. “I just got to figure out from here and hopefully I get some sort of help,” he stated, reflecting the challenging road ahead.

Prince William County authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash, and charges are expected to be filed in connection with the incident. The event serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of life, even for actors known for their comedic roles in popular shows like “30 Rock.”
