Nickelodeon’s School of Rock series, inspired by the iconic 2003 movie, first rocked onto screens in March 2016, quickly capturing hearts with its story of a substitute teacher, Dewey Finn, and his musically gifted students forming a rock band. For fans of the School of Rock cast Nickelodeon, time has indeed flown, and many are curious about where the talented young actors are now. The series showcased the talents of Breanna Yde, Aidan Miner, Lance Lim, Ricardo Hurtado, Jade Pettyjohn, and Tony Cavalero, alongside Jama Williamson. Let’s dive into what the cast of School of Rock Nickelodeon has been up to since the show wrapped.
Jade Pettyjohn, who played Summer, reflected on the musical heart of the show in a 2016 interview with Starry Mag. “I definitely think that what drew me to the project was music and I love it was a group of kids who learns how to express themselves through music,” she shared. “They get together and form a band. Hopefully, it inspires some kids to pick up an instrument, play some music and listen to music they haven’t heard before.” She fondly recalled the band’s first performance in the initial episode, highlighting the real musical talents within the School of Rock cast Nickelodeon. “I think one of the really fun moments was in the first episode where we got to play as a band for the first time. We used classical instruments and then turned it into our own rock band version… It was great because we all play instruments in real life. So, getting that flavor was a spark of something.”
Jade also cherished the bonds formed with her castmates, emphasizing the unique experience of working with fellow young musicians. “It was amazing for me as well because I got to play music with other kids my age who were musicians… I have met some of my best friends that way, who are some of my castmates. It’s been a pretty epic experience overall.”
Following the series finale in 2018, several members of the School of Rock cast Nickelodeon have continued to flourish in the entertainment industry. Breanna Yde, who starred as Tomika, ventured into a solo music career. In a 2020 interview with HollywoodLife, she acknowledged the show’s subtle influence on her musical journey. “It was a part of my life, and I lived through it.
