Embracing their “Do Something” ethos, The Rock Church Point Loma and its San Marcos campus are uniting to gather essential supplies for victims and first responders during this critical period.
This urgent call for donations spans two days, Sunday, January 12th, through Monday, January 13th, from 8 am to 5 pm, at both Rock Church Point Loma and Rock Church San Marcos locations. The initiative, aptly named “Fill the Truck,” aims to amass a substantial collection of necessities to offer tangible support and comfort to those grappling with the fire’s aftermath.
What Supplies are Needed?
Understanding the diverse needs of both victims and first responders, The Rock Church Point Loma has outlined specific items for donation:
For Fire Victims:
- Bottled water: Crucial for hydration in emergency situations.
- Unused basic clothing: Providing comfort and dignity to those who have lost homes.
- Baby essentials: Diapers, wipes, and baby wash to care for the youngest affected.
- Unused blankets: Offering warmth and security during displacement.
- Toiletries: Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss, feminine hygiene products, and shaving supplies for basic hygiene needs.
For First Responders:
- Bottled water: Maintaining hydration for those on the front lines.
- Electrolyte drinks: Gatorade/Powerade (or similar) to replenish vital electrolytes.
- Energy drinks: Providing quick energy boosts for demanding work.
- Baby wipes: Essential for soot cleanup and hygiene in the field.
- Protein bars: Supplying sustained energy for prolonged operations.
- Trail mix: Offering easily consumable and nutritious snacks.
