Slippery Rock University (SRU) is committed to fostering athletic excellence, and a cornerstone of this dedication is the Jerry Bejbl Weight Training Center. Located within the Mihalik-Thompson Stadium, this cutting-edge facility provides SRU’s varsity athletes with the resources they need to maximize their strength and conditioning, embodying the true essence of “The Rock Weight” in their training regimen.
The Bejbl Weight Training Center stands as a testament to the enduring support of SRU alumnus Dr. Jerry Bejbl. His generous $200,000 donation in 1997 laid the foundation for this vital training hub. Since its inception, the center has undergone significant enhancements, ensuring it remains at the forefront of collegiate athletic training. In 2012, a substantial upgrade introduced new branded weight racks and dumbbells, further solidifying the center’s commitment to providing top-tier equipment. The year 2020 marked another milestone with a comprehensive renovation, featuring a brand new flooring system, a state-of-the-art sound system, and the addition of even more advanced equipment, creating an optimal environment for “the rock weight” training.
