This guide provides comprehensive information to help you plan your perfect getaway at Castle Rock Campground.
Understanding Our Reservation Policies
To secure your spot at Castle Rock Campground, especially during peak season, reservations are highly recommended. We strive to be flexible while also ensuring fairness to all our visitors. Please take note of the following policies regarding cancellations and changes to your reservations.
Cancellation Policy
Life happens, and plans sometimes change. Castle Rock Campground offers a clear cancellation policy to accommodate unforeseen circumstances.
- Online Cancellations: For your convenience, cancellations can be made 24/7 through our online reservation system.
- Phone Cancellations: Alternatively, you can call our Reservation Call Center, available Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time, to cancel your reservation.
Cancellation Fees:
- Individual Sites: Cancellations made at least four days prior to your scheduled arrival date will incur an $8.00 cancellation fee, in addition to the $8.00 reservation fee. For cancellations made less than four days in advance, you will forfeit one night’s camping fee, plus the cancellation and reservation fees.
- Group Areas: For group site cancellations, please notify us at least 14 days before your arrival. Cancellations made 14 days or more in advance will be charged an $8.00 cancellation fee, along with the $10.25 reservation fee. Cancellations within 14 days of your arrival date will result in forfeiting one night’s fee, in addition to the cancellation and reservation fees.
Important Note: Please be aware that cancellations are not permitted during the Change Freeze Policy period, which is designed to manage reservation changes close to arrival dates.
Changes to Reservations
Need to adjust your dates or campsite? Castle Rock Campground allows changes to existing reservations, subject to availability.
- Online Changes: Changes can be made online anytime, 24/7.
- Phone Changes: You can also make changes by calling our Reservation Call Center during operating hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time).
A $5.75 change fee applies per site, per change. Similar to cancellations, reservation changes are not allowed during the Change Freeze Policy period. We encourage you to finalize your plans as early as possible to avoid any inconvenience.
Refunds
Refunds for cancelled reservations are processed back to the original credit card used for payment. Please note that refunds are not issued due to inclement weather or the presence of insects. Camping is an outdoor activity, and we encourage you to be prepared for varying conditions.

However, in the unlikely event of a natural emergency or unforeseen campground closure initiated by Castle Rock Campground management, a full refund of all camping fees will be issued.
No Show and Late Arrival Policy
Your campsite at Castle Rock Campground will be held until 10:00 a.m. on the day following your scheduled arrival date. If you have not arrived and occupied your site by this time, the reservation will be considered a “no-show,” and the site may become available to other campers. No refunds are provided for no-shows.
If you anticipate a late arrival, please inform the park directly to make necessary arrangements, especially if arriving after gate closure. Most park gates are locked at 10:00 PM, but it’s crucial to verify the exact gate closure time for Castle Rock Campground by checking our website or contacting us directly.
Campsite Regulations and Rates
To maintain the tranquility and quality of experience at Castle Rock Campground, we have established campsite limits and vehicle policies.
Campsite Limits and Extra Vehicles
Each individual campsite reservation at Castle Rock Campground includes entrance for one vehicle. If space permits, an extra vehicle may be accommodated at your site for an additional nightly fee. This extra vehicle fee is roughly half the standard camping fee but can vary. For specific details regarding extra vehicle accommodations and associated fees at Castle Rock Campground, please contact the park office directly.
Credit Card on File Requirement
For guests reserving Yurts, Cabins, Tiny Homes, or Cottages at Castle Rock Campground, a credit card on file is required. This policy is in place to cover any potential damages or additional cleaning fees that may be incurred during your stay.
Seasonal Rates at Castle Rock Campground
Castle Rock Campground offers different rates based on the season, reflecting the varying demand and services available. We have two primary seasons:
- Walk-In Season: October 1st to April 30th
- Peak Season: May 1st to September 30th
