Getting to Cave in Rock State Park
Cave in Rock State Park is located in Hardin County, Illinois. From northern Illinois, take I-57 south to Marion, then Highway 13 east to Harrisburg. Turn south on Highway 1 for 22 miles to reach the park. From the south, take Highway 90 from Marion, Kentucky, across the Cave-in-Rock ferry. From the southeast, take I-24 west to Exit 16, then east on Highway 146 for 38 miles. From southern Indiana, travel west on Highway 62 and Highway 141 to Route 1, then south for 36 miles.
Planning Your Visit
Groups of 25 or more are welcome but must register with the site office in advance. Each group of 15 minors requires at least one adult supervisor. Pets must be leashed at all times. Natural events can sometimes lead to closures, so it’s always best to call the park office before your visit. Remember to leave no trace of your visit behind.
