During a recent visit to this iconic Gaslamp Hard Rock Hotel, we had the pleasure of exploring both these dining gems.

Our culinary journey began with a delightful lunch at Maryjane’s Diner. Opting for a sunny spot on the terrace, we immediately embraced the relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Maryjane’s menu is a celebration of classic American diner fare, elevated with quality ingredients and creative twists. Among the standout dishes, the quinoa burger truly impressed. Packed with flavor and texture, it’s a must-try for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Notably, Maryjane’s extends its welcoming hours until 3 a.m. on Saturdays, making it the perfect late-night destination for post-event bites in the Gaslamp Quarter.

Transitioning from American comfort food to globally renowned Japanese cuisine, our evening was reserved for Nobu. Securing a reservation at this world-famous establishment is highly recommended, and for good reason. Nobu’s reputation for exceptional sushi is well-deserved, with an emphasis on the freshest, highest-quality fish. The Yellowtail Sashimi with jalapeño, a dish frequently lauded by Nobu aficionados, lived up to every expectation. The delicate balance of fresh yellowtail, spicy jalapeño, and tangy sauce was simply exquisite, leaving us wishing we had ordered more.

For sushi connoisseurs seeking a more personal dining experience, sitting at the sushi bar at Nobu is highly recommended. This vantage point offers the opportunity to interact with the skilled chefs, gaining insights into the freshest catches and daily specials.
