St. Eustatius, affectionately known as the “Golden Rock,” remains the Caribbean’s best-kept secret, and we were thrilled to uncover its magic just weeks before our trip. The promise of exceptional diving initially drew us in, and what we experienced with Statia Divers surpassed all expectations. But beyond the underwater wonders, we found a resort that truly defines paradise.
Our stay in a two-bedroom cottage was perfect for our group of three. The cottage was impeccably furnished, spotlessly clean, and exceptionally comfortable. We highly recommend opting for a cottage; its convenient location allows for easy access to the resort’s amenities, and the charming little train provides effortless transportation around the property. The resort grounds themselves are stunningly beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the mini-golf course, which proved to be challenging and endlessly entertaining, filled with laughter from start to finish.
The staff at the resort are simply outstanding. Sophie’s exceptional assistance in arranging our last-minute getaway was invaluable. Her responsiveness and genuine care made the entire booking process seamless. From the welcoming front desk to the attentive waitstaff and the meticulous housekeeping team, every member of the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always greeted us with a smile.
Dining at both resort restaurants was a highlight of our stay. The food was consistently fantastic, and the chef’s attentiveness to our Celiac dietary needs was truly remarkable. By our second day, the staff had already taken note of our gluten-free requirements, ensuring we didn’t need to remind them, a testament to their exceptional service.

However, the diving experience deserves special mention – in one word, it was amazing! Dan, Kate, and Captain Dave at Statia Divers are truly top-notch professionals. Their valet service is unparalleled, making every dive effortless and enjoyable. Their extensive knowledge of the local dive sites led us to some breathtaking underwater locations. We were incredibly lucky to encounter a magnificent Goliath Grouper during our second dive, a truly unforgettable moment. The dive center itself is brand new, and all the equipment is in pristine condition. We cannot recommend this diving team highly enough for anyone exploring the Golden Rock’s underwater world.
