Looking for an exciting and educational outing for the whole family in Little Rock? The Museum Of Discovery Little Rock stands out as a premier destination, offering dynamic experiences designed to engage visitors of all ages, from the littlest learners to curious grandparents. It’s not just for families; it’s also a unique and enriching spot for a date!
For our younger guests, those under 16, please remember that an adult companion is required to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for everyone.
Engaging Exhibits for Little Explorers
The Museum of Discovery is particularly wonderful for families with young children. For the tiniest visitors, Curie’s Kiddie Corner provides a specially designed space for children aged 4 and under. This temporary early childhood classroom features a soft play area perfect for babies who are crawling or just learning to walk. You’ll also find building blocks and other age-appropriate toys to spark creativity and exploration.
Exciting changes are underway at the museum! While the Room to Grow Gallery and WOW Gallery are currently being renovated, anticipation is building for the grand opening of two brand-new galleries on November 23rd: Small Fry Fish Camp and Curiosity Spot. Small Fry Fish Camp promises to be an immersive exhibit tailored for children aged 6 and under, inviting them to explore, play, and learn in a fish camp themed environment. Curiosity Spot is designed to be an engaging, hands-on exhibition, encouraging creativity and exploration through interactive displays. You can learn more about these exciting updates on the museum’s website.
New Early Childhood Galleries
The PPG STEAM Studio further enriches the experience for young children with its Tinker Tots section. Here, sensory play and basic art activities are combined with problem-solving and critical-thinking challenges, fostering early STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) skills.
Even in the museum’s newer galleries like the Science Lab and Dynamic Earth, you’ll find thoughtfully integrated early childhood exhibits. This allows younger children to participate in hands-on learning alongside their older siblings or adult family members, making it a truly inclusive experience for families with children of varying ages.
For a structured learning experience tailored for the youngest scientists, the museum hosts the Wiggle Worms program, specifically designed for children 6 and under. This engaging program introduces STEAM concepts through an interactive storybook session followed by a hands-on activity. Wiggle Worms takes place every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Be sure to check the museum’s event calendar for the weekly schedule and topics to plan your visit accordingly.
Fun for All Ages at the Museum
Beyond the dedicated spaces for young children, the Museum of Discovery Little Rock is designed to be enjoyed by everyone. With the exception of Curie’s Kiddie Corner (reserved for ages 4 and under), every gallery throughout the museum features exhibits that are perfect for both children and adults. The museum prides itself on offering hands-on educational experiences that cater to a wide range of learning levels, from simple concepts to more complex scientific principles. So, whether you are a curious child or a lifelong learner, you’ll find something to fascinate and engage you at the Museum of Discovery.
Science After Dark: Adults-Only Evening of Discovery

Enjoy cocktails, beer, and food available for purchase while delving into science in a fun and social setting. Admission to Science After Dark is just $5, or free for museum members.
