Hiking to the Summit of Pulpit Rock

Pulpit Rock Park is easily accessible, with the main parking area located off I-25 and Nevada. Simply follow the road behind Mowers and Motors, the distinctive go-kart venue, to find the park entrance adjacent to a small power plant.

Once inside Pulpit Rock Park, you’ll discover a network of trails catering to various preferences. Some are wide and well-groomed, perfect for a leisurely stroll, while others are narrower and more adventurous, inviting exploration. To reach the summit of Pulpit Rock itself, start on the main trail leading from the parking lot. After approximately an eighth of a mile, you’ll encounter a junction with another prominent trail. Turn right here. In a short distance, about 50 yards, keep an eye out for a smaller trail veering off to your left, just before the main trail curves. This path leads directly towards Pulpit Rock. What to Know Before You Go

While Pulpit Rock offers a safe and enjoyable hiking experience, it’s essential to exercise caution, especially at the summit. It is possible to fall from Pulpit Rock if you venture too close to the edges, so it’s wise to avoid risky behavior and maintain a safe distance from the cliffside.
