I am absolutely buzzing with excitement! Checking my countdown app this morning confirmed it – the 2019 Humana Rock ‘N’ Roll San Antonio is just 170 days away! The anticipation is building, and I can’t wait to experience this race for so many reasons, as I’ve previously shared and even more that are bubbling up as the date gets closer.
This race is shaping up to be an incredible family affair! My husband and our two sons are joining me, along with my youngest son’s girlfriend, Kimberly, who will be running the race alongside me. This will be our very first experience with a Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series event, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Adding to the fun, my brother-in-law, a Texas newbie, is also coming along for the adventure. Flights are booked (Southwest, you’re the best!), and we’re incredibly fortunate to be staying with my husband’s brother and sister-in-law – two of the kindest people you could ever meet. They have a huge, loving family, and we’re excited to connect with everyone.
Have I mentioned how incredibly excited I am for this Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series race?!

From a training perspective, the San Antonio race is perfectly placed for me. It falls six weeks after my October full marathon and about five weeks before the WDW Full Marathon in January. If everything goes according to plan, the timing couldn’t be better!
If you’re considering participating in the San Antonio Rock ‘n’ Roll event, whether it’s the 5k, 10k, half marathon, or full marathon, or any race within the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series this year, you should definitely check it out!
For those already registered for the 2019 Rock ‘n’ Roll San Antonio, fantastic! It’s going to be an unforgettable experience. Be sure to visit BibRave to read race reviews – I found one particularly encouraging mentioning the course is surprisingly easy and flat. Perfect! Thank you for reading, and here’s to a joyful run!
