Third Suspect Arrested in Round Rock Juneteenth Shooting Investigation

The Round Rock Police Department has made a third arrest in connection to the tragic shooting at Old Settlers Park during the annual Juneteenth celebration on June 15th. The incident resulted in two fatalities and injuries to 14 others, shaking the community and prompting an intensive investigation.

Keshawn Dixon, 18, was apprehended on Saturday, July 6th, in Killeen and subsequently taken to the Bell County Jail. Dixon faces charges of deadly conduct, a third-degree felony, and may be subject to additional charges as the investigation progresses. This arrest marks another significant step in the ongoing effort to bring all those responsible for the violence to justice.

This arrest follows the apprehension of a juvenile male suspect on Friday, June 21st. He was taken into custody and transported to the Williamson County Juvenile Justice Center. Earlier, on Thursday, June 20th, 17-year-old Ricky Thompson III of Manor was arrested in Pflugerville by the Lonestar Fugitive Task Force. Thompson was booked into the Williamson County Jail, charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, and also potentially faces further charges as more details emerge.

Police reports indicate that the shooting erupted after an altercation between two groups at the Juneteenth celebration. Chief Allen Banks emphasized the complexity of the investigation, stating, “Please understand we have a lot of evidence and casework to do to make sure we are getting the justice for these families that they deserve.” The Round Rock Police Department, in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Department of Public Safety, and the Pflugerville Police Department, continues to actively pursue all leads and additional suspects related to the Round Rock Shooting Juneteenth event.
