On-Demand Roles: Flexibility at Your Fingertips
The On-Demand Team Member role at Target offers unparalleled flexibility. As an On-Demand TM, you have the freedom to work hours that fit your lifestyle. Whether you’re seeking supplemental income, have other commitments, or simply prefer a variable schedule, this role adapts to your needs. Your schedule can fluctuate based on shift availability and the store’s requirements, providing a truly personalized work experience.
Unlike traditional roles with fixed schedules, On-Demand Team Members use the myTime mobile scheduling app to choose shifts that suit them. Leaders and team members post available shifts, giving you the power to create a schedule that works for you.
To remain an active On-Demand Team Member, consistent engagement is key. This involves regularly picking up and working shifts and responding to Target’s communications. Throughout the year, Target will reach out to confirm your continued interest in working shifts. Responsiveness is crucial; failure to respond to communication attempts will result in administrative termination of employment.
Active engagement requires working at least one shift every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours). Flexibility is considered for personal circumstances that may prevent you from meeting this requirement, but communication and a response to contact attempts are still necessary to maintain your On-Demand status. Working at least one shift within a 6-month period is mandatory to maintain employment, and this requirement will become more frequent, changing to one shift within 5 months effective December 2024.
Your success in this role hinges on your communication skills and your ability to work during peak business needs. Being available and responsive are highly valued in this dynamic environment.
New On-Demand Team Members will participate in a Target Welcome orientation and a brief, structured training program. This ensures you are well-prepared to excel as a Guest Advocate. Following training, the myTime mobile scheduling app becomes your primary tool for selecting desired shifts.
